Education

Students in the Lower School of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tygsboro, Mass.

The focus of the Notre Dame mission has always been education. Today you'll find Sisters working as administrators, teachers and professors, tutors and classroom aides.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur of the U.S. East-West Province have taught and directed in hundreds of schools in at least a dozen states during their history.

While many of the schools have closed or been transferred to parishes over time, the Sisters of the Province today have responsibility for colleges, high schools, elementary and pre-schools.

The essential characteristics, values and activities of a Notre Dame learning community are known as the Hallmarks.
