As an Associate
SNDdeN Associates are lay persons who promise to live out the charism, spirituality, and mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in their own life circumstances. They aim to daily witness God’s goodness and provident love. This is the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
Associates participate in faith sharing and retreats, deepen their spiritual life through liturgical and personal prayer, and share their gifts and talents in many ways with their families, their parish, diocese and the Sisters of Notre Dame. This associate relationship is one of mutuality in which both the Associates and Sisters greatly benefit.

As a Notre Dame Mission Volunteer
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers (NDMV) was founded in 1992 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. NDMV promotes literacy and education. We place volunteers with communities around the world.
In 1995, NDMV partnered with AmeriCorps to form Notre Dame – AmeriCorps (NDA). Now over 400 NDA members serve in 24 cities each year.
Teams serve with local partners to expand access to education. The primary approach is to offer small-group and 1-on-1 instruction. Members serve in crowded classrooms and community centers.
Notre Dame AmeriCorps members serve full-time for 11 months. A local site director oversees and supports members.
During the service year, AmeriCorps members receive training in the form of biweekly team meetings, a training conference in Maryland, and opportunities for additional training and retreats.
In 2006, NDMV began Notre Dame – International (NDI). NDI places volunteers with Sisters abroad. The volunteers educate and train women and children.
